Composer and sound artist Garth Paine documents his field recordings with photographs that relate his sounds to the specific locations in which they were recorded. Present in the Landscape, for example, is an exploration of the Shoalhaven River in southern New South Wales, Australia. Here's an excerpt of the recording.

Paine writes: "I spent a day on the river in a boat, stopping to talk with people about their use of the river and why they were there, either in a boat or on the side of the river, swimming and walking ... "
