Photographer and sound artist Janeil Engelstad works with the images and sounds of the world as she finds them. As she says of sounds, "It is rare that I set out to record environmental sound, rather when I hear a sound or combination of sounds that are unusual or interest me I record them."

"This piece, which I call 'Cacophony: Birds, Marching Band and Tea' was recorded from an outdoor café in Delhi. The recording includes the sounds of a waiter preparing tea, various Eurasian birds (including the distinctive call of the Asian Koel) and music played by a marching band making its way down a nearby street. "
